When you pull up to the dinner table on Thanksgiving, have you ever wondered how the neighbors are celebrating the holiday?
Chances are they will be among the 39 million people visiting family this year, according to a recent study. Using its mobile research app, data collectors at Field Agent surveyed 250 moms with children at home, asking them what activities would be included in their upcoming Thanksgiving celebration.
Visiting with family was overwhelmingly the most popular choice with 89 percent of mothers surveyed saying they would be spending time with relatives.
Retail therapy and pigskin proved nearly equal in terms of popularity on Turkey Day — 68 percent of mothers surveyed planned to shop this year while 67 percent said football would be included in their celebration.
Surprisingly, only 66 percent of respondents said an evening feast would be part of their Thanksgiving, while 64 percent said napping would be part of their day.
The least popular Thanksgiving activity posed to the moms surveyed? Volunteering.
